In case you are wondering what would happen if you went out on a cold, rainy morning and ran 5K when you hadn’t been running at all for the last three months due to various colds and infections and a critical lack of time…

… the answer is, a pulled hip flexor and a recurrence of patellofemoral syndrome (aka knee pain that makes it impossible to go down stairs or slopes.)  Two days later and I”m still staggering around groaning like an 80 year old.

That is it. No, really that is IT. I am getting back in shape if it kills me, and it might.

What fresh hell is this?? I’ve been stalking your blog for the last three days waiting to hear about the 5K. This is NOT the news I expected.

On a positive note, I guess it could be worse: you could have a pulled hip flexor and a recurrence of patellofemoral syndrome combined with that hellacious rash you had a few weeks ago. :O

Take it easy, eh?

What are you doing to yourself, woman?

It’s my own damn fault. I’m lucky I didn’t get shin splints too.

I feel for you. I have had PFS for 20+ years. It is NO. FUN. Here’s wishing you a speedy recovery period with no stairs.

My husband has PFS now. He’s got all sorts of nifty physio and a bosu ball to work on it. Except it hurts too much to do any of those things. Go figure.

holy cow. I’m so sorry. Somehow, at this point in our lives (in our ripened state) getting back into shape after even a short break. Oy. Please take care of yourself and do it slowly…

Oh no! Hope you’re back on your feet soon! How about a bottle of tequila and some epson salts, that ought to cure you. Or kill you…maybe not, then.
